Our Story

Petrichor: an Australian word describing the  aroma of the dry earth after rain.

Petrichor Pantry

Antoine and Lily have had very different journeys, but they speak the same language: walking gently on the earth that sustains us all.

Lily is a second generation horticulturalist with soil and the flow of seasons in her veins.

Antoine's path has run through Michelin kitchens in France to cheffing for the Australian Antarctic mission. His passion: understanding of transformation through fermentation.

Their vision, now quickly takimg form is Petrichor Pantry. Seven hectares of fertile soil and native forest in the lush Lilydale Valley in Northern Tasmania, only 20 minutes from Launceston, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

Think ferments, small batches, aligned with the seasons. New flavours, textures, and turning overlooked ingredients into new gastronomic sensations, nutritious preserves and unexpected explosions of taste.

2nd Press Backyard Lemon Shrub is their first ferment about to begin production, but stay posted because there is definitely going to be more!
